AN INDEPENDENT OFFICE OF
LEGAL AID MANITOBA
PILC’s significant legal achievements for Manitobans include the $330 million MPI rebate, assisting 49 persons with intellectual disabilities to return to their home communities from an institutional setting, and Families First: A Manitoba Indigenous Approach to Addressing the Issue of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
SERVICE IN OVER 40
Legal Aid Manitoba provides free
or affordable legal services
to low-income adults and youth,
and public interest groups.
GETTING LEGAL AID
To receive legal aid, you will need to
show that your legal problem is covered by
Legal Aid Manitoba and that you cannot
afford to pay for a private lawyer.
DO I QUALIFY?
We look at your financial situation
to determine whether or not you qualify
financially for legal aid. If you qualify,
you may receive legal aid for free, or
you may be required to pay for all of
your legal costs at legal aid rates.
