Application Centres


To save time, you can start the application process by filling in the legal aid application on your computer. You must complete it in person at one of our Application Centres or over the telephone within 30 days. An interviewer will help you to complete your application. If you are unable to attend one of our Application Centres in person, please call 204.985.8511 or toll free 1.866.800.8056.

In Person

We accept legal aid applicants on a first-come, first-served basis. You may apply in person at an Application Centre or other designated location such as a court house, in or around one of these cities:

  • Winnipeg
  • Brandon
  • Dauphin
  • The Pas
  • Thompson

3. An interviewer will help you complete your application form. You must sign and declare your application is true and that you understand it is an offence to obtain legal aid with false information. You must also sign a consent form allowing Legal Aid Manitoba to verify the information you provide.

4. Approximately 1-2 weeks after you apply, Legal Aid Manitoba will provide you with a written notice of its decision. The notice will explain why your application has been approved or rejected. It will also explain what happens next in the process.
